TomTom Go 750 Live

The TomTom Go 750 Live is a mid range satellite navigation system that provides you with all of the features that you love, plus a few extras. With this model you will get MapShare, IQ Routes, and the Help Me feature, as well as Advanced Lane Guidance. TomTom is known for producing GPS devices that offer the most reliable maps and the best routes, plus they are solidly built so you can be sure you are getting a quality product.

With the Help Me feature that comes with the TomTom Go 750 Live you will get information on the quickest way of getting help with what you need. For example, if you have a flat tire, the unit will provide you with the closest tow company or tire repair shop, including phone numbers. You even get a first aid guide as part of the Help Me feature.

Along with maps to several European countries, the TomTom Go 750 Live also has maps of Greece, Turkey, and Malta. Another new feature that comes with this model is speed camera alerts for Holland and France, as well as fuel price information for Germany. If you have a route that you travel frequently the unit will automatically pickup that route and input it at the times that you normally travel that route. Of course you probably won’t need directions to a place that you travel to frequently, but the unit also provides traffic information, which could be useful.

Some additional features that are included with the TomTom Go 750 Live consist of an Eco Route; when the unit calculates your routes it will also give you the option of choosing the most economical route so that you can save on fuel. A Live Snapshot of your route gives you a summary of fuel prices, traffic conditions and more.

With built in Bluetooth you can use the TomTom Go 750 Live with your mobile phone, plus the unit has speech recognition so that you can use voice commands to input instructions.

As a navigation device the TomTom Go 750 Live performs well, though it does have a tendency to lag behind slightly and route recalculation can also be slow. Many of the Live features that come with the 750 are free for one month, but thereafter you will have to pay a monthly subscription to continue using the services. The monthly subscription fee seems to be out of place with this unit due to its already steep cost.

The HD Traffic feature is useful as it will alert you to any road conditions that could delay your trip, including accidents, as well as how far away the accident is from your current location, and if there are any expected delays.

The TomTom Go 750 Live is a nice satellite navigation system, though it is costly and requires a subscription to make use of all of its features.
