Sat nav giant Tom Tom has announced the pricing of its iPhone car kit, and iPhone users with the sat nav application will be able to get hold of this kit for just under one hundred pounds

Following the release of the Apple iPhone sat nav application, satellite navigation giant has released an iPhone car kit, and it has recently announced the UK pricing for this kit. The company has stated that the sat nav iPhone car kit will cost just under one hundred pounds, and with the run up to Christmas already having started it could enjoy seeing impressive sales levels as consumers buy the kits for themselves and for loved ones.

Costing £99.99 the kit includes a built in microphone so that users can communicate safely on a hands free basis. The built in GPS offers enhanced performance, and secure docking can be achieve through the eastPort mount. A charger, music adaptor, and a speaker are also included as part of the kit. According to reports the reception strength and performance of the sat nav application will be enhanced by the built in GPS.

Users will also be able to view the iPhone sat nav on a landscape or a portrait basis, and this is because the car kit can be rotated. The cost of the sat nav car kit coupled with the cost of the application itself, which is just under sixty pounds, means that consumers will need to spend just under one hundred and sixty pounds in total to get the most out of their iPhone sat nav.

The company has released a statement with regards to its pricing, stating: “TomTom announces today that the TomTom car kit for the iPhone will have a recommended retail price of £99.99. The TomTom car kit will be available this October and will be sold separately from the TomTom app. It will be compatible with the iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS. ”
